Freedom2Go is proud to announce that it now represents BreathClean - an industry leader in home air purification.  Please contact any of our offices if you have any questions or would like to know more about this revolutionary new product.

•          More than 50% of the households have someone who suffers from breathing problems of some kind (allergies, asthma, sinus congestion, etc.).
•          People generally aren't aware of ultraviolet air purification systems, which could help their breathing problems.  If you don't bring it up, your customers still won't know.
•          Breathing problems have increased in the past decade since homes have been built much tighter, restricting the exchange of indoor and outdoor air.  Indoor air is much more polluted than outside air.
•          Mold damage has been dropped from homeowners' insurance policies due to the cost and frequency of claims.  The solution is to eliminate the mold source, and prevent it from spreading.
•          BreatheCLEAN uses high intensity ultraviolet light to destroy airborne micro-organisms including cold germs, viruses, mold spores, dust mites, influenza and many other organisms that are common in homes and that can cause illnesses and allergies.
•          BreatheCLEAN is a whole-home air purification system.  It attaches to a home's central ductwork so it purifies all the air in your home as it circulates.  A typical heating or air conditioning system turns the air in a home over approximately four times and hour.  The BreatheCLEAN unit is totally silent and virtually maintenance free!  Simply replace the UV lamps once per year.
•          BreatheCLEAN does NOT use harmful ozone gas to kill organisms; it uses the proven technology that has been used in hospitals and other industries since the 1930's - high intensity ultraviolet light.
•          BreatheCLEAN is headquartered in Bloomington, was developed and tested with the help of the University of Minnesota, and is manufactured in Minnesota.

There is a 5-year warranty on the BreatheClean unit, and one year on the bulbs.

Questions and Answers

Q.  Does BreatheClean eliminate odors?
A.  It can if the odor is caused by a microorganism, like mold, which typically produces a musty odor.  What you smell are the mold spores circulating in the air.  If an odor is caused by cooking, new carpeting, chemicals, etc. a good filtration product designed to absorb these types of odors could be used.  Consult your dealer for your specific needs.

Q.  How does mold get started, and how does it spread?
A.  Mold is normally present in the air, but for it to form a colony and grow it needs warmth, moisture and a source of food.  We can't eliminate warmth, since we need that too - at least in the range that supports the growth of mold.  We also can't eliminate the source of food, since mold can use almost anything as food, e.g. wood, cloth, paper, carpeting, wallboard, etc.  We can, however, control moisture through dehumidification products.  Mold spreads through spores circulating through the air.  Actually, our typical heating and air conditioning systems help spread it by circulating air containing mold spores throughout the house.  We can control the spreading of mold spores through the use of a product like BreatheClean that disinfects the air as it circulates.

Q.  Is it true that mold can form on the air conditioning system in my home?
A.  Yes.  Since mold needs moisture, and air conditioning coils (A-coils) produce moisture, this is a common place for mold to form.  Placing a BreatheClean unit over the A-coils will irradiate the coils and destroy mold forming there.

Q.  I've heard that ozone kills microorganisms and makes the air smell fresher.  Does BreatheClean use ozone?
A.  According to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) ozone is harmful to humans at levels that would kill microorganisms.  The EPA also states that if you can smell the "freshness" of ozone that the level is harmful to humans.  BreatheClean does not use ozone for these reasons.

Q.  Does the BreatheClean unit stay on all the time, or does it cycle on and off with the blower (fan)?
A.      BreatheClean stays on all the time.  The tradeoff is the cost of electricity versus reducing the life of the ultraviolet bulbs.  The BreatheClean unit draws less electricity than a normal 75-watt light bulb, which we believe to be a better tradeoff than weakening the bulb by turning it on and off.  If you are going to be away from home for an extended period, on vacation for example, simply unplug the unit while you're away.

Q.  What can I do to disinfect the air in my home when my furnace or air conditioning isn't running?
A.  Most thermostats have an "ON" setting for the fan.  You can turn the fan on for a few hours each day to circulate the air in your home past the BreatheClean unit.

Q.  Won't a good furnace filter take out the same microorganisms that BreatheClean destroys?
A.  Some microorganisms, e.g. viruses and bacteria, are too small for even good filters to remove from the air.  Microorganisms that are taken out by filters aren't destroyed, but can actually accumulate and grow on the filters.  A BreatheClean unit, combined with a good filter, is an excellent combination.  Each performs a different function - they aren't meant as a replacement for one another.

Q.  How long do the bulbs last?
A.  The bulbs will normally last several years or more, but the manufacturer recommends that they be changed annually to keep the ultraviolet power output in the range needed to destroy microorganisms.

Q.  I have two furnaces in my home.  Do I need a BreatheClean for each one?
A.  Yes, if you want the air in each of the areas being serviced by each furnace to be disinfected.

Q.  Does BreatheClean remove dust and other particles from the air?
A.  No.  A good filter would do that.  BreatheClean is intended to destroy living microorganisms that are airborne, and that are circulated by your heating or cooling system.  That's why we recommend a good filter and BreatheClean working together.

Q.  Will BreatheClean ALWAYS cure allergies or other breathing problems?
A.  No.  Allergies can result from many different sources other than airborne microorganisms, which BreatheClean was designed to destroy.  You should see your allergist to determine the source of your breathing problems.

Q.  When should I expect to see results after I've installed a BreatheClean?
A.  If you have allergies or other breathing problems caused by airborne microorganisms, we've had customers tell us they saw results within a day.  If you're installing BreatheClean to improve overall air quality, we've had feedback from customers reporting fewer colds and other illnesses, and generally better health and more energy.

Q.  How does BreatheClean compare to a good room air purifier?

A.  BreatheClean purifies ALL the air in your home as your heating and ventilation system recirculates the air (approximately four times per hour).  A room air purifier treats only a small amount of the air in your home.
